Camille Turner (born 11 March 1960 [citation needed]) is a Black Canadian media and performance artist, curator, and educator. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, particularly concerning the subject of Black Canadian Identity. MissCanadiana is a persona created and performed by Camille Turner since 2002. She has made appearances across Canada and has represented Canada internationally in countries including the UK, Germany, Senegal, Australia, Cuba, Jamaica and Mexico. In 1969, Turner and her family moved from Jamaica to Canada, first to Sarnia, Ontario, and ultimately to Hamilton, where she, her mother, and her sister were reunited with her father and where Turner spent the remainder of her childhood.
